Frequently asked questions
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about our fully automatic emptying and cleaning station.
I don't use chemicals. Is CamperClean environmentally friendly?
The CamperClean organic sanitary additive works on the basis of microorganisms and is therefore incomparable with conventional sanitary additives. It goes without saying that the CamperClean organic sanitary additive is environmentally friendly.
I used to use chemical sanitary additives. What should I bear in mind when switching to environmentally friendly sanitary additives?
Chemical additives are not compatible with microorganisms and will kill them. Therefore, clean the cassette thoroughly before changing over and rinse it several times with fresh water. Make sure that the water also rinses the mechanism in the cassette to remove any chemical residues. Otherwise, the dead microorganisms may give off an odour.
I also use additives in the toilet flush water. What should I bear in mind when switching to environmentally friendly sanitary additives?
Chemical additives in the rinse water are not compatible with microorganisms and kill them. This also includes vinegar-based solutions. We will soon be offering you our own solution for this.
Can my cassette get stuck in the appliance?
This is highly unlikely. However, if the door no longer opens due to a technical defect, the groundsman has a key for the machine.
How much does cleaning cost?
This depends on the location. Most pitch operators charge between €1.00 and €2.00. Including our microbiological sanitary additive Mikro Green worth €1.00.
My cassette has not come clean, what should I do?
Please follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for using the cassette. Despite modern technology, incorrect toilet paper, facial tissues or other solids can result in not all residues being removed. If large amounts of residue remain in the cassette despite correct use, please contact us directly at customer-service@camperclean.com or the site operator.
Where can I find campsites with CamperClean?
Current pitch locations are regularly posted on our website. Also look out for our CamperClean logo on the campsite homepage. Let us know at customer-service@camperclean.com where you would like to see a CamperClean machine.
You mention that the cassette is filled with the correct amount of fresh water and sanitising additive after the cleaning process. What is the right amount of fresh water?
To ensure that the microorganisms have an optimum effect, the cassette is filled with approx. 1.5 to 2 litres of fresh water, depending on its size.
I have inserted my cassette. But when I press the start button, nothing happens.
Please check that the cassette is inserted correctly. The cassette must be inserted as far as it will go for the cleaning programme to start. When inserting the cassette, the green LED flashes until the cassette has been inserted correctly and then lights up continuously.
Can the Dometic CT 4000 and CT 3000 ceramic cassette toilets also be used with CamperClean?
You can recognise all stations that can empty and clean Dometic CT 3000 and CT 4000 cassettes by the dark blue flag on our Google map. As soon as we have retrofitted stations, we will update the colour coding accordingly.
Are Porta Potti models also planned?
Adaptation to special Porta Potti models is being planned.
How long does the microbiological sanitary additive keep in the freshly filled cassette if it is not used for a long time?
There is no general answer to this question. As these are microorganisms, their durability depends on the external environmental influences, the weather and the location of your vehicle. The effect then slowly but steadily diminishes.
I use a SOG system. Can I have my cassette cleaned at the CamperClean station?
You can also clean this cassette in our station. However, this is only possible if you have fitted the SOG device at the standard points. These are located on the vent button or the spout snorkel. Please understand that we cannot accept any liability for damage caused by an incorrectly fitted SOG system. You are welcome to send us a photo of your cassette so that we can confirm that it has been fitted correctly.
